The pilot episode of Atrium’s episodic series “Nouns: A Movie,” which transforms the well-known non-fungible token (NFT) collection into entertainment, has just been made available. Atrium is a network of independent Web3 artists and creators.“The Rise of Blus: A Nouns Movie” is reportedly the first animated film supported by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), and it is directed by former animators for Pixar, Netflix, and Marvel. The project has a $2.75 million budget, which will be allocated in installments if the team accomplishes its objectives.
A press statement states that the action comedy “is set in the bustling, floating cloud city of Blus, where an audacious 13-year-old Noun discovers the plot of aristocrats to enslave its citizens and must team up with an unlikely band of misfits to save the ones they love.”In March, a motion to support the movie was approved by the NounsDAO community.Film writers, producers, and animators at Atrium include William Yu, HKJay, Zen Doubt, 3DPrint Guy, and Meta Ent.The movie was produced entirely remotely, expediting tasks that would have previously taken months.
Zen Doubt, who is also co-directing the film, claimed in a news statement that “we are 10x-ing the speed of traditional studios because we can make decisions quickly and move forward in a more agile manner.”The fact that the movie was entirely made remotely, which also allowed it to be produced at a lower cost than traditional ways, was one of the causes credited for the speed.Zen Doubt has been releasing regular updates on the process on Twitter, including details about whether previous projects had an influence on the animation style of the movie as well as behind-the-scenes information like the Rorschach tests produced by AI.
According to Supriyo Roy, the founder and CEO of Atrium, the Nouns project’s release as open-source allowed the film’s makers the flexibility to create a full world and plot for the 8-bit characters. No “canon” exists, Roy declared.Infinite brand machines exist for nouns. The proper way to do things is not officially prescribed from the top down.
Through the Nouns Movie website, viewers can view the film’s pilot episode. The NounsDAO community has recently approved proposals for a comic book series with the NFT community ComicsDAO and book publisher Titan Comics, as well as a second ArtBall NFT collection with the Australian Open tennis tournament, OnCyber, and Vayner Sports Pass.An earlier NounsDAO proposal helped 3DPrintGuy create a short film in February. The short’s main characters were all made available as collector NFTs.
