AntChain Implements Zero-Knowledge Proof for Better Privacy and Verification in the Web3.0 Era

AntChain, a subsidiary of Ant Group, has unveiled a new architecture upgrade for its privacy cooperation platform, AntChain FAIR, which includes Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) as a basic technology for verifiable computation. This extends reliable data transfer to the validation of computing processes, data properties, and identities.

ZKP is a cryptographic approach that allows one party (the prover) to demonstrate to another (the verifier) that they are aware of a value or possess specific knowledge without giving any details about the information or value itself.

ZKP is regarded as one of the most important technologies in the Web3.0 era over the next five years. It enables a prover to persuade a verifier that a statement is true without disclosing any extra useful information. The merger of Ant’s AI security detection platform “Yijian” and Ant’s privacy computing platform “Yinyu” is considered as an important future trend. Large-scale AI model training necessitates a large amount of data, and this data must be processed using privacy computing to assure safety and reliability.

Companies and organisations that use ZKP architecture may verify that the entire data processing process is carried out according to agreed-upon circumstances, is correct, and can be confirmed, all while retaining privacy. This would considerably improve the credibility of identity verification, AI model training, data transfer, asset transactions, and on-chain and off-chain collaboration, driving the adoption of Web3.0 in more complicated industrial situations.

AntChain has optimised software techniques to expedite the “proof generation” phase to 2.8 times the original baseline. This stage entails creating a “proof” for data, identity, computation method, and so on.

However, AntChain FAIR has incorporated zkWASM, a new type of ZKP virtual machine, into its trusted computing architecture to lower the barrier to using ZKP. This enables instruction-level verifiable features and the conversion of algorithm programmes written in multiple front-end languages without the requirement to grasp sophisticated underlying algorithm specifics.

AntChain FAIR is a privacy cooperation platform for data transfer that combines the benefits of blockchain and privacy computing. It resolves the natural conflict between data sharing and privacy protection in the data flow process. It is presently used in various data exchanges, including the Hangzhou International Digital Trade Centre and the Guizhou Big Data Exchange.
