Galaxy Digital Eyes Expands in Europe Under a New Regional CEO

Galaxy Digital (GLXY), a bitcoin financial services company with headquarters in New York, now has a CEO for Europe as it seeks to grow on the continent.

Leon Marshall, who now serves as the company’s global head of sales, has been named as the organization’s first CEO for Europe. Along with his new position, Marshall will keep serving as head of sales.

Galaxy’s goal is to “aggressively scale our operations in the U.K. and Europe – a region that has committed to embracing the digital asset future and creating the necessary regulatory frameworks for our industry to operate within,” according to Novogratz in a recent email announcement.

In recent months, a number of cryptocurrency businesses, including the exchange Coinbase (COIN), have been considering expanding their operations in Europe, partially in response to the relative regulatory certainty being provided by the European Union (EU) and the U.K.
