Recent data from Spot On Chain shows that since September 30, transfers totaling more than 10,000 Ether, or $17 million, have been sent across five different addresses from an address associated with the FTX attack, known as 0x3e9. Prior to the most recent action, the addresses had been inactive for several months.
The THORChain router and Railgun contract received the majority of the 7,749 ETH, or nearly $13 million. The exploiter also carried out a swap involving 2,500 ETH valued around $4.19 million, transforming it into 153.4 tBTC at an average price of $27,281 per token.
The original hack occurred on Saturday, September 30, and the estimated losses were close to 50,000 ETH. The hack occurs as traders prepare for the Oct. 2 debut of Ethereum futures ETFs. Sam Bankman-Fried’s trial, a co-founder of FTX, is also scheduled to start in October.
The trial is anticipated to run six weeks, starting on October 3 with jury selection and ending on October 4 with the start of court proceedings. Bankman-Fried is charged with seven offences related to fraud, including two substantive and five conspiracy offences.
The FTX founder has maintained his innocence throughout all accusations. Bankman-Fried is still being held in detention despite many attempts to get her released on bail. His most recent request for freedom was turned down by Judge Lewis Kaplan due to worries that he would run away.
