A test for a Web3 wallet within the Grab superapp is being planned by Grab (GRAB) and stablecoin operator Circle.
According to the firms, Singaporeans who use the ride-hailing, food delivery, and digital payment app will have access to the Grab Web3 Wallet, where they may utilise vouchers in non-fungible token (NFT) form and earn prizes and collections. During the Singapore Grand Prix on September 17, the pilot’s initial phase will take place.
One of Southeast Asia’s most widely used consumer apps, Grab has about 180 million users. The stablecoin USD Coin (USDC), which is tied 1:1 to the dollar, is managed by Circle.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire said at Token2049 in Singapore, “I think it’s going to be very easy for us to imagine a world where we can take a billion users and have access to Web3, and therefore have access to transacting stablecoins.”
