To help Moroccan earthquake victims, Binance will airdrop $3 million BNB.

The Marrakesh-Safi Province of Morocco recently experienced an earthquake, and Binance Charity has promised to airdrop up to $3 million in BNB to those customers who are impacted there.

Submissions of Proof of Address (POA) form the basis of the airdrop criteria. Users who have finished their POA by September 9th, 2023 in the most severely affected Marrakesh-Safi Province are entitled for a $100 BNB airdrop that will be sent right to their Binance accounts. Binance has extended a grace period because it is possible that certain users may not have finished their POA by the specified date. Users who finish their POA between September 9, 2023, and September 30, 2023, will get a $25 BNB gift.

Additionally, even if they live outside of the most affected locations, Binance will airdrop $10 in BNB to all active users who are transacting across all of Morocco. The programme is anticipated to help some 70,000 Binance users in Morocco, with the money distribution starting on September 12, 2023.

Traditional financial networks are frequently disrupted by natural catastrophes, depriving victims of access to vital funds. With its quick, affordable, and transparent transactions, cryptocurrency is developing as a potential option for providing financial assistance in such situations. CZ, the founder and CEO of Binance, commented on the incident, saying, “The impact of the earthquake on the Moroccan people is catastrophic. We hope to be able to help those who are impacted”. We invite Moroccan users to donate money to individuals in need if they get it but weren’t affected by the earthquake.

A public contribution address has been established by Binance Charity in addition to the airdrop, making it possible for anybody to donate. All contributions will be sent in full to an authorised NGO that has not yet been named. For this cause, the following cryptocurrencies are accepted: BNB, BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, and BUSD.

In these difficult circumstances, Binance confirms its commitment to its Moroccan user base and looks for further ways to help the neighbourhood.
